Rachelle “Chelle” Constance Horowitz

Rachelle passed away unexpectedly at age 84. She was born a twin, with her sister Jane, to Maurice Forschirm and Naomi Bloch Forschirm. Following her mother's early death, both sisters were adopted and raised by Janet and Irving Adelson.

She graduated from Richmond Hill High School in New York and earned a degree from Michigan State University in Home Economics with a focus on retail. After beginning her career as a buyer in New York, she married Irwin Horowitz in March 1965 and moved to Toledo, where she raised two children and later led the customer service department at downtown Toledo's Macy's until its closure.

She volunteered with ORT, Planned Parenthood, and the Toledo Museum of Art. She is survived by her children Todd and Ilisa Horowitz Heyman, daughter-in-law Laura Adams, son-in-law Leigh Heyman, grandchild Evalyn Heyman, sister Jane Rosenbloom, and niece Sarah Taylor.
